Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre Adds Ultrahuman Ultra Age to Sahatna App

Abu Dhabi will add Ultrahuman's Ultra Age to the Sahatna public health app, estimating biological age from sleep, cardiovascular and blood markers without requiring an Ultrahuman ring.

Sahatna to add biological age estimates

The Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre is teaming up with Ultrahuman to bring the company's algorithms to Sahatna, the nationwide healthcare app used to manage health, speak to doctors and access health and genetics records. As of now, the app will also tell users their biological age as opposed to their chronological age.

The new feature comes from Ultrahuman's Ultra Age metric, which analyzes sleep, cardiovascular and blood markers into a single metric. The centre said users will not need to be Ultrahuman users to get the benefit, because Sahatna's system is device agnostic. The system also will not mandate the use of Ultrahuman's smart rings.

Clinical and wearable data combined

The ADPHC said it hopes the system will help people gain a better understanding of how lifestyle factors influence their long-term health. It added that the model, which combines clinical and wearable data, will support earlier interventions, more targeted prevention strategies and more personalized recommendations.

It is not clear at this point whether officials will be able to target and identify individuals who are deemed to require direct intervention, or if this will be left down to the user.

Wearables gain ground with health authorities

Historically, wearables have received short shrift from doctors and regulators, but the partnership indicates the trend is shifting. The move places a smart ring metric inside a public health app while keeping access open to users who do not own Ultrahuman hardware.
