Anthropic introduces Claude Duet

Anthropic has announced Claude Duet, an AI agent competitor to Meta's Muse and OpenAI's Dots. The agent is designed for professionals and small business owners and is launching as a research preview. It is built around Claude Opus 5.5 and is available as a standalone app on iOS and Android and through Claude on the web.

Daily briefs and task handling

According to Anthropic, Claude Duet sends a short morning brief covering the most important items across connected apps. During the day, it monitors those apps and messages the user only when something needs attention. Users can hand it tasks ranging from scheduling meetings to building dashboards with dozens of tools, creating financial or sales forecasts, prototyping, and building web apps. It pulls in memory, skills, and connected apps from Claude, and it has a virtual machine with a browser for completing work. Before major actions such as sending a payment or deleting something, it asks the user for approval.

Safety controls and current limits

Because Duet may act on sensitive information, Anthropic added a new dedicated classifier and safety system prompt designed to reject requests to share the strictest tier of information, such as credit card numbers. Anthropic describes the release as an early version that still might misread a thread or miscalibrate what is urgent. It is also not as strong at personal errands such as booking tickets.
