Apple's HomePod mini 2 will reportedly come in new colors, but keep a similar design

Apple is reportedly preparing a second-generation HomePod mini in five colors: green, pink, light blue, white and black. The images and details were published by MacRumors on September 25, after the outlet said it found them inside Apple's own code base.
New colors, familiar design
The HomePod mini on sale today comes in yellow, orange, blue, white and midnight black, so the palette changes noticeably. According to the report, the shape and size of the speaker stay close to the previous generation.
Launch timing and Siri AI
Apple's code suggests the release is close, which matches earlier reporting that an upgraded HomePod mini and a new Apple TV box will both arrive later this year. The launch is expected to line up with the official release of the Siri AI assistant.
Price, specs and a possible home hub
Price and technical specifications are still unknown. A new chip looks likely, but that remains speculation. The first HomePod mini launched in October 2020 for $99, and Apple later raised the price to $129. Since then the device has only been refreshed once, with a new color in July 2024.
Separately, Apple is rumored to be working on a smart home hub built entirely around Siri AI. Reports describe it as looking like a HomePod mini cut in half, with a small display.
