Overclocker Luumi tops 12 year Core i5 4670K Cinebench R11.5 record
Overclocker Luumi has set a new HWBot record for the Intel Core i5 4670K in Cinebench R11.5, scoring 10.8 cb while running the Haswell chip at 6,301 MHz under liquid nitrogen.
Record result
Overclocker Luumi has posted a new HWBot world record for the Intel Core i5 4670K in Cinebench R11.5, with a multicore score of 10.8 cb. The run ended a Core i5 4670K category record that had stood for 12 years. Validation files listed the CPU frequency at 6,301.00 MHz, and liquid nitrogen was used for cooling.
The result is specific to the Core i5 4670K category. It is not a world record Cinebench R11.5 score for all quad-core processors.
Hardware and setup
The tested CPU is a Haswell era Core i5 4670K with four cores and four threads, a stock base and boost of 3.4 and 3.8 GHz, an 84W TDP, 6MB of cache and HD 4600 graphics, built on Intel's 22nm process. In that period, four core and eight thread desktop parts were i7 chips, while this i5 was an unlocked four core part.
Luumi's system used an ASRock Z97 OC Formula motherboard, 4GB of DDR3 memory from XPG and a Corsair AXi 1600 power supply. The Cinebench R11.5 run was made under Windows 7 64-bit Pro.
Retro hardware context
Tom's Hardware also ran Cinebench R11.5 on a current laptop with a 12 core and 24 thread CPU. In cool and quiet mode, it reached four times the score of the record breaking Haswell desktop, and the older benchmark still worked on Windows 11 without any fuss. The publication noted that some older benchmark staples, including 3DMark tests from the DX10 era and earlier, can have problems on modern systems, which can make results invalid for HWBot rankings.
A HWBot community comment highlighted the value of a homepage overclocking result involving neither an X3D CPU nor an RTX 5090 GPU.
