Tesla Q3 deliveries fall 2.1% as Cybertruck sales plunge 48%
Tesla delivered 486,532 vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, down 2.1% from a year earlier but ahead of analyst forecasts. Sales of the Cybertruck and other models plunged 48%.
Tesla delivered 486,532 electric vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, a 2.1% decrease from the 497,099 cars it sold in the same period a year earlier. The decline was smaller than analysts expected: their forecast of 456,600 deliveries implied an 8% drop. Tesla's stock rose after the figures were published.
Cybertruck sales collapse
Deliveries of the Model 3 and Model Y, the core of Tesla's line-up, fell just 0.6% year over year to 478,237 units. The "other models" category, dominated by the Cybertruck, was hit far harder: sales plunged 48% to 8,295 vehicles, and production of those models dropped 39.8% to 7,004. The group also covers the Tesla Semi and the Cybercab, while the Model S and Model X have been retired.
Production and energy storage
Overall production rose 3.7% year over year to 464,391 vehicles, 457,387 of which were Model 3s and Model Ys, a 4.9% increase. Tesla's energy storage business had a better quarter, deploying 13.7 GWh of storage products between July and September, up 9.6% year over year.
Tesla will publish its full third-quarter financial results on October 21. Based on the numbers published so far, the company heads into the final quarter with roughly flat demand for its core models and a Cybertruck that keeps losing ground.
