EmDash adds Georgian — the first Georgian locale lands in the official codebase

The open-source CMS EmDash, built by Cloudflare, officially gained Georgian language support — the full localization of its administrative panel was merged into the main codebase on September 22.

What happened

Pull request #3267 — 2,512 strings of Georgian translation — was opened in the morning and merged within hours: the project's maintainer @ascorbic (Cloudflare) approved it and merged it into main. Georgian had not been among EmDash's locales until now — this is its first Georgian localization.

The translation was prepared in Batumi by the SiTech team in two passes: an AI-assisted first pass built on a terminology glossary aligned with established Georgian technical conventions; then an independent review and automated verification: integrity of placeholders, ICU forms and tags, gettext validators, and a visual check in the running admin panel. The AI assistance is openly disclosed in the PR.

What it means for Georgian users

From now on, anyone using EmDash will see the admin panel in Georgian — the dashboard, collections, media library, settings and more. The locale will ship in the next release; it is already in main.

This matters especially for teams considering a move away from WordPress: the panel works in the native language, so managing content no longer requires English.
