Sincere releases After Hours Pixel Tunes portable CD player with a glow-in-the-dark body

Limited translucent finish

Sincere Inc. has released the Pixel Tunes portable Bluetooth CD player in an After Hours finish. It is a limited edition and one of four translucent color options, but it is the only one that glows in the dark because it uses phosphorescent materials. In daylight, the player resembles a translucent smoke-shelled portable CD player. When the lights are off, its body gives off a soft green light.

The other translucent finishes are Warm Gray, Ray of Light and 1983. The After Hours design is described as expressing the transition from bright everyday life to the private world of the night.

Price and availability

The After Hours Pixel Tunes is listed at 12,980 yen, roughly US$83. People outside Japan can check options through a preferred forwarding service. Amazon Japan will also ship the special edition internationally, depending on the customer's location.

Features and compatibility

The Pixel Tunes supports Bluetooth 5.3 and includes an LCD, ESP anti-skip audio with a 60-second buffer, playback controls, a clicking volume wheel with power functionality, a charging LED indicator and built-in stereo speakers. It has a USB-C port, a 3.5 mm headphone connection and bottom mounting holes. Its rechargeable Li-ion battery provides 5 to 7 hours of playback.

The available product information does not specify whether the player can play CD-R or CD-RW discs. It also does not mention compatibility with discs containing MP3 files or support for USB audio playback, leaving those capabilities unclear.
