Xiaomi releases MiMo-V2.6: open-weight omnimodal Pro and Flash models
Xiaomi has released the open-weight omnimodal models MiMo-V2.6-Pro and MiMo-V2.6-Flash. Pro tops the Artificial Analysis index at 46.32, the highest for an open-source model, with API pricing unchanged from the V2.5 series.
Xiaomi released and open-sourced the MiMo-V2.6 series on September 22, 2026. It has two natively omnimodal models — MiMo-V2.6-Pro, the company's most capable to date, and MiMo-V2.6-Flash — plus an UltraSpeed mode that serves Pro at up to 20x the output speed.
Top of the open-weight index
MiMo-V2.6-Pro scores 46.32 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index (v4.3, September 2026), ahead of Kimi K3 and Qwen3.8 Max — Xiaomi's claim for the highest score of any open-source model so far. API pricing is unchanged from the V2.5 series: $0.14 and $0.28 per million tokens for Flash, $0.435 and $0.87 for Pro.

In Xiaomi's appendix table Pro scores 71.9 on DeepSWE v1.1 and 89.9 on Terminal Bench 2.1, though Claude Opus 5 stays ahead on some rows (37.0 on ProgramBench, against 26.5). Artificial Analysis puts Pro at about $0.13 per Intelligence Index task, on the intelligence-versus-cost Pareto frontier.

Reinforcement learning, streamed live
Xiaomi streamed the production RL run as it happened. In under six days Flash and Pro each completed 30 RL steps over roughly 750,000 trajectories, costing about $0.85M and $2.62M. Training-task pass rates rose 25% and 12% in relative terms; DeepSWE v1.1 scores climbed about 17 points (48.8 to 65.68) and 14 points (58.4 to 72.57).
The run used up to 1,568 samples per update and 3.5–3.7B tokens per step. Xiaomi froze the router to suppress training drift and added defences against reward hacking, and publishes the technical report, training environments and RL code with the models.
Beyond code, and availability
The release extends coding agents into what Xiaomi calls "Vibe World": interactive 3D scenes built from a prompt, Blender assets, and a Franka Panda robot arm driven in embodied simulation from multi-view cameras. In research cases the model screened metal-organic frameworks for PFAS removal and helped formalize Li and Yorke's "Period Three Implies Chaos" in Lean 4 — over 6,000 lines verified by Lean's kernel.
Pro and Flash are live in AI Studio, MiMo Code, MiMo Desktop, the MiMo API platform and OpenRouter; the weights are on Hugging Face. MiMo Desktop leaves early access with this release, and posts aggregated by Techmeme note an MIT licence.
