On September 14, 2026, Apple made its 2027 software releases available: iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and updates across its other platforms. The headline feature is Siri AI — an entirely new version of Siri powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence and deeply integrated into iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro.
Siri AI, Visual Intelligence, and Safari
Apple says the new Siri is more intelligent, knowledgeable, and capable than before. With Visual Intelligence, users on iPhone, iPad, or Mac can ask Siri about what they are looking at onscreen. In Safari, Apple Intelligence automatically organizes open tabs into topics, while the new Notify Me feature helps users follow website changes such as product restocks or price drops.
Parental controls and platform improvements
The release adds powerful new parental controls aimed at safer, more enriching digital experiences for kids. Apple also reports faster AirDrop transfers, quicker iCloud Photos uploads, smoother Mission Control, and Apple Vision Pro booting and connecting to Wi-Fi up to three times faster. Apple Maps Flyover now combines aerial imagery with AI, AirPods gain custom EQ, and the Health app adds perimenopause and menopause support in Cycle Tracking. Siri AI is not available for users under 13.
