Black Forest Labs releases Flux 3 Image with multi-step editing that keeps the rest intact

Black Forest Labs has released Flux 3 Image, the image side of its Flux 3 model family. The model supports multi-step edits that leave the rest of the picture alone, and an open-weight version is expected within weeks.

Black Forest Labs has released Flux 3 Image, the image side of its Flux 3 model family. The model is available now in a free demo.

Multi-step editing

According to Black Forest Labs, Flux 3 Image supports multi-step edits that do not change the rest of the picture. Changes are applied step by step, which lets users refine a picture through a series of edits.

What the model can do

Flux 3 Image covers text-to-image and image-to-image generation, text rendering and photorealism. Users can compose scenes with bounding boxes and include up to ten reference images, and output goes up to 4K resolution.

Availability and pricing

API access is 50 percent off through October 8. Companies can license the commercial weights to run and fine-tune the model on their own infrastructure, and an open-weight version is expected in the coming weeks. The launch comes shortly after Ideogram announced its own editing-focused model, version 4.5, which is also set to ship as open weights soon.
