Bloomberg Opens ASKB AI to All Terminal Users With Custom Documents
Bloomberg is opening ASKB, its multi-agent conversational AI for the Terminal, to all 375,000 subscribers. Users can upload custom documents into a segregated data environment; each answer cites its source and the BQL code behind it.
Bloomberg Expands ASKB to Its Full Terminal Subscriber Base
Bloomberg is extending ASKB, its conversational AI interface for the Terminal, from a beta subset of users to its entire subscriber base of 375,000 seats. About a third of Terminal users had access to ASKB by April 2026, and Bloomberg has not specified a date for the full release. Steven Rosenbush reported the move in WSJ CIO Journal.
ASKB is described by the company as a conversational AI interface for the Terminal built on specialized agents rather than one massive model. The system coordinates agents that search documents, news, analytics and alternative datasets in parallel to build responses.
Custom Documents Join the Bloomberg Data Environment
The wider rollout adds custom-content integration, which Bloomberg calls the bigger reach of the launch. Subscribers can upload their own files and data into Bloomberg's data environment alongside Bloomberg's own material, with client content kept securely segregated from the Terminal's existing data.
When an answer relies on data analysis, ASKB returns the underlying Bloomberg Query Language code behind it, so users can carry that code into Microsoft Excel, BQuant Desktop or BQuant Enterprise.
Citations and Workflow Use Cases
Each ASKB answer cites its original source and timestamp, a design Bloomberg argues keeps the tool usable in regulated capital-markets workflows. The company has pointed to recurring tasks such as customized morning briefs or weekly thesis health checks as early automation candidates.
The rollout lands in an active quarter of enterprise AI launches on the site's tracker, alongside coverage of Honeywell Forge Cognition and Modal Series D.
