Cloudflare Open-Sources Void Platform, SDK and CLI for Full-Stack Vite Development

VoidZero has open-sourced Void, three products that bring server routing, typed data access and Cloudflare deployment into one Vite workflow. The Void Platform, SDK and CLI are available as a single npm package.

Void Goes Open Source

VoidZero, the team behind Vite, Vitest, Oxc and Rolldown, has open-sourced Void, a suite of three products that bring server routing, typed data access and Cloudflare deployment into a unified Vite workflow. Void Platform is a shared deployment environment for hosting Void apps on Cloudflare. Void SDK is a composable JavaScript SDK for building full-stack apps with Vite. Void CLI provisions resources and deploys Vite apps to Cloudflare. All three ship as a single JavaScript package and Vite plugin, installable with npm install void.

The project reflects a shift in direction after VoidZero joined Cloudflare. The team originally planned a single private deployment platform but decided to open-source it so anyone can install it, responding to demand from companies that want to encourage vibe-coded internal apps without giving every employee direct cloud access.

Void Platform: A Shared Company Cloud

Void Platform runs on top of Workers for Platforms inside an organization's Cloudflare account. Admins control access, set resource limits, and inspect deployments and usage through the Void CLI or an admin dashboard, providing guardrails so approved users can ship apps to the same shared environment. Because the platform is fully open source, teams can use it out of the box, contribute upstream, or fork it and integrate their own systems, deployment workflows, or other deployment platforms.

Self-hosting requires a Cloudflare account with Workers for Platforms and R2 enabled, a PostgreSQL database, an account with the chosen login provider, and a domain for the apps. Setup takes a single install command, after which approved users connect via void connect and deploy from the CLI. The Void SDK powers platform features such as authentication, framework detection and resource provisioning.

Void SDK and CLI

The SDK turns a Vite app into a full-stack Cloudflare Workers app and automatically infers and provisions resource bindings such as databases, queues or AI bindings during development and deployment. Importing void/db gives a local database in development and D1 in production, while void/ai connects to Cloudflare's AI Gateway. Adapters exist for React and Vue, with file-based API routing, pre-rendering, caching, islands and end-to-end type safety, and the SDK integrates with frameworks including Vinext, React Router, SvelteKit, Nuxt, TanStack Start and Astro, using Hono for resource APIs and Better Auth for authentication.

The Void CLI, built on the cf CLI, handles building, deploying and managing resources, and is designed to work with coding agents for debugging, log reading, performance analysis or full project lifecycles. Running void deploy builds with Vite, applies migrations, provisions resources and deploys to Cloudflare or a Void Platform. VoidZero says it has used the SDK, CLI and Platform in production for several months.
