Frore Systems Unveils Diamond-Infused LiquidJet Coldplates for 2,300W Nvidia Rubin
Frore Systems has introduced its bespoke LiquidJet Diamond liquid-cooling coldplate series, using a diamond surface to address hotspots on next-generation AI accelerators such as Nvidia Rubin, claiming up to 22C lower GPU temperatures.
Frore Systems Introduces Diamond-Enhanced Coldplates
Frore Systems has introduced its bespoke LiquidJet Diamond liquid-cooling coldplate series, which pairs a diamond surface with a multi-stage 3D short-loop jet-channel microstructure to target precise hotspots on next-generation AI accelerators, including AMD's Instinct MI400 and MI500-series and Nvidia's Rubin.
The company claims the new coldplates can handle hotspot power densities of up to 770 W/cm², reduce GPU temperatures by up to 22C compared with conventional coldplates, and improve AI token throughput per watt by as much as 35%.
How the Diamond Layer Works
LiquidJet Diamond builds on Frore's earlier LiquidJet coldplate and the LiquidJet Nexus designed for Nvidia Blackwell and Rubin-based servers. Unlike Nexus, which integrates multiple coldplates into one large assembly for several processors, LiquidJet Diamond is an individual, bespoke GPU coldplate. Each unit uses a three-dimensional, ultra-short-loop, multi-stage architecture with coolant channels customized for a specific processor's power distribution.
The key addition is a heat spreader integrated into the bottom of the coldplate. Diamond wafers sit directly above the GPU's hotspots to spread heat before it reaches the liquid-cooling structure. Diamond has exceptionally high thermal conductivity, exceeding 20 W/cm K, versus approximately 4 W/cm K for copper. Frore has not disclosed how the diamond wafers are manufactured or integrated.
Performance Claims and Demo Plans
Frore says its original LiquidJet coldplate cuts GPU temperatures by about 12C versus conventional skived coldplates in its simulation model, equal to a 25% gain in AI tokens per watt. The custom diamond heat spreader promises up to 10C lower hotspot temperatures. Together, the full LiquidJet Diamond solution delivers a 16C to 22C GPU temperature reduction with 30% to 35% better token efficiency, and the company projects 75% higher heat-transfer efficiency plus over 150% higher maximum hotspot power density than conventional cold plates.
Frore plans to demonstrate LiquidJet Diamond at the OCP Global Summit on October 12 to 16, showcasing cooling for Nvidia's 2,300W Rubin accelerator and hotspots reaching 770 W/cm². The company has not said whether the demo uses production GPUs or a thermal test vehicle.
