Google ships Gemini 3.8 Flash
On September 2, 2026, Google introduced Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber — its third Flash release in six weeks, arriving just three weeks after 3.7 Flash. Google calls 3.8 Flash its most intelligent workhorse model, with major gains in coding, agentic tasks and multi-step reasoning.
Built for long-horizon agents
On the DeepSWE v1.1 software engineering benchmark it solves complex problems end to end autonomously, beating most larger frontier models at a fraction of the cost. It also scores 54.9% on HLE-Verified.
Flash Cyber for defenders
Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber brings frontier-level vulnerability discovery and automated patching on CyberGym, and reaches trusted governments, critical infrastructure operators and software maintainers through the new Fairwind Program. Both models keep CBRN and cyber-offense safeguards.
Pricing
An introductory price runs through December 31, 2026; from January 1, 2027, pricing is $1.50 per million input tokens and $7.50 per million output tokens.
