How to Claim Your Cut of Apple's $250 Million Siri Settlement

Apple has agreed to pay $250 million to settle a class action lawsuit accusing the company of overhyping its Apple Intelligence features — and specifically the long-delayed overhaul of Siri. Under the settlement, owners of certain iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 models in the United States can now apply for a cash payment of up to $95 per eligible device.

Who qualifies

The settlement covers customers in the US who bought qualifying iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 models from Apple between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025. The case centers on Apple's promotion of Siri features to sell iPhones; the claim form asks applicants to sign a statement reading, in part, "I expected to receive a Siri Apple Intelligence feature and did not receive it." Apple denies any wrongdoing.

Although the rebuilt Siri is now available to owners of newer iPhones through iOS 27, that does not affect eligibility for purchases made during the class period.

How to file a claim

Claims are filed at smartphoneaisettlement.com. The site's blue "File A Claim" button sits in the top-right corner of the page. You will first be asked whether you have a Claim ID and PIN; having them in advance is not required. On the final page, you need either your iPhone's serial number or your Apple Account ID. If you are unsure where the serial number is, open Settings, tap General, then About — the string of letters and numbers near the top of the screen is it.

Anyone claiming for more than one device must fill out the form again for each eligible phone.

Payment options and deadline

Approved claimants can choose to be paid by PayPal, Venmo, electronic bank transfer, or paper check. The deadline to submit a claim is December 21.

In a statement issued in May about the settlement, Apple said: "We resolved this matter to stay focused on doing what we do best, delivering the most innovative products and services to our users."
