Krea Launches Krea 3, an Image Editing Model Built for Production Workflows
Krea 3 is a new image editing model that promises edits in under 8 seconds at about $0.06 per image, with native 2K output and regional editing that changes only the requested area.
Speed and pricing claims
Krea has released Krea 3, an image editing model it says is built for production work. The company claims the model finishes an edit in under 8 seconds and costs about $0.06 per image, which it frames as 10 times faster and 3 times cheaper than GPT Image 2 and Nano Banana Pro.
According to the company, the comparison is based on a 12 image batch test. Krea 3 used an illustrative playback time of 8 seconds per edit, while Nano Banana Pro took 26.8 seconds and GPT Image 2.5 took 39.9 seconds, measured as median request to result time including queue time. The listed costs are approximately $0.06, $0.135 and $0.21 per 2K edit respectively. Krea notes the outputs are pre generated, not a live benchmark, and that GPT Image 2.5 pricing is a draft estimate pending validation.
Editing capabilities
Krea 3 renders 2K output natively at 2736 by 1536 pixels. The model supports regional editing, where users draw a box and describe a change, and the system redraws only inside that region while leaving the rest of the image untouched. The company says precision is measured as the share of pixels outside the edit area left unchanged, and offers a Precise mode for this workflow.
The model accepts up to eight reference images, allowing users to point at people, products, places and styles by number and combine them in one picture. Krea also highlights character consistency across edit sequences, voice note input, and 251 launch presets covering tasks such as day to night conversion, blockout, sketch, re skin, new sky and green screen.
Availability and integrations
Krea says it distributes the model through organizations including fal, Baseten, Comfy, Luminal, Together AI, Envato, Creative Fabrica, Oxen, Civitai, RouterPlus, Mito AI, Flora and Eachlabs. The company lists target use cases such as e commerce, marketing, architecture, product, fashion, gaming, film, photography and consumer work.
Krea positions the model for design teams, mentioning workflows from Figma to Blender, more than 50 image, video and 3D models, custom brand models, SSO and IP indemnification. The company says the launch price is the list price and expects it to go down over time. A press kit with logos, product images and a launch film is available for coverage.
