Logitech's Yeti 2 modernizes the classic Blue USB mic with AI and a 3D sensor

Logitech has introduced the Yeti 2, a reimagined sequel to the Blue Yeti USB microphone. The original launched in 2009 and, 17 years later, is still a popular pick among podcasters and streamers. The new model updates the formula with a 3D proximity sensor, AI-powered noise reduction and a 1.3-inch display. It is available now for $160 in black and white.

A microphone that tracks your voice

According to Logitech, the 3D sensor tracks the speaker's voice in space and automatically adjusts gain, EQ and pickup patterns as they move around the desk. Automatic gain and voice tracking are enabled out of the box, so users do not have to fine-tune levels before every session.

An onboard AI denoiser is designed to reduce unwanted background sounds, such as mouse clicks and keystrokes. Those noises are hard to avoid during long streams or calls.

A friendly face on a new display

The Yeti 2 adds a 1.3-inch LED display, which is home to a small Yeti mascot. The character provides visual feedback on gain and directional patterns, aiming to make settings easier to grasp than a plain status light. Anyone who prefers a different look can create custom avatars through Logitech's G Hub software.

Updated hardware and price

Under the hood, the mic uses a redesigned three-capsule array and records at 24-bit / 48kHz. It also offers several directional modes, a headphone jack for monitoring, a capacitive mute button, a physical control dial and five stored presets.

The Logitech G Blue Yeti 2 is on sale now from Logitech's website and third-party retailers for $160.
