Meta launches enterprise AI platform to sell its AI stack to businesses
Meta announced Meta Enterprise Platform on Monday, a new business unit that will sell the company's models, agents and developer tools to corporate customers. Pricing and launch timing were not disclosed.
Meta announced on Monday, September 28, that it is launching Meta Enterprise Platform, a new business unit that sells the company's AI products to businesses and corporate customers. Mark Zuckerberg, Meta's founder and chief executive, described it as “the next major pillar of our business.” The unit will be led by MongoDB chief executive Chirantan “CJ” Desai, who joins as chief enterprise platform officer and reports directly to Zuckerberg.
What Meta is offering businesses
According to the company, the platform starts with Meta's full technology stack: the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code. All of them will be made available to companies and developers so they can build their own products on top of Meta's models and agents.
The launch builds on the momentum of Muse, Meta's personal AI assistant, which the company introduced earlier this month and which can already handle tasks such as sending emails and booking travel.
Why Meta believes it can compete
Zuckerberg said the new unit draws on strengths that few other companies have: advanced models, leading agents, large-scale infrastructure and years of experience working closely with businesses.
“Over the coming years, AI will fundamentally redefine how organizations of all sizes innovate, grow, serve customers, and run business operations,” Desai said in a statement. He said the platform's goal is to turn Meta's AI stack into products and services that companies can deploy in their own businesses, adding that security and privacy are built into Meta's enterprise products from the outset, as they are with Muse.
The enterprise AI race
OpenAI, Anthropic and Google are already competing hard for corporate customers in the enterprise AI market. TechCrunch notes that the move could help Meta see a return on the money it is pouring into AI.
The announcement did not include pricing, packaging or a specific launch date. What is known is that the platform will initially lean on products Meta has already built and sell businesses access to its models and agents.
