Modder Brings Full DLSS 5 Suite to AMD RX 6000, 7000, and 9000 GPUs via NeuralHub Loader

The DLSS-NR mod by Daniel Blanco has received its 0.8.0 update, adding DLSS Super Resolution, Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and Neural Rendering to three generations of AMD Radeon GPUs through a universal mod loader.

DLSS 5 Now Available on AMD GPUs Through Mod

Modder Daniel Blanco has released the 0.8.0 update to his DLSS-NR on AMD project, a modification that brings Nvidia's DLSS 5 feature set to Radeon graphics cards. The update adds DLSS Super Resolution 4.5, Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and the latest 310.9.16 improved Neural Rendering build, along with general performance improvements. The project was first released on September 3, 2026, initially focusing on Neural Rendering alone, and has since expanded to cover the main DLSS features.

How the Mod Works

The mod targets three generations of AMD GPUs: the RX 9000 (RDNA 4), RX 7000 (RDNA 3), and RX 6000 (RDNA 2) series. It works in any DirectX 12 game that uses FSR, DLSS, or XeSS, inserting itself into the game's existing upscaler pipeline. Installation is handled through the NeuralHub mod loader, which detects installed games and provides a user interface for setup. The mod also offers an overlay that lets users tweak DLSS settings without leaving the game. According to the update notes, it includes FSR 4.1.1 upscaling, giving the mod a consistent FSR version to work with instead of having to be compatible with the various FSR implementations found in different games.

Performance and Compatibility

The developer states that the output quality is very similar to what DLSS produces on Nvidia GPUs natively, with the caveat that some effects may not be working fully. In his own testing, Blanco measured playable frame rates of 90 to 100 FPS at 1080p on an RX 9070 XT, and he plans to keep improving the mod with the goal of matching the performance of a 5070 Ti. Real-world results from the community are mixed: some Reddit users report no performance loss over native FSR, while others experience single-digit FPS drops or up to 25 percent lower frame rates in various games. The developer notes that many different PC configurations still have to be accounted for. One notable limitation is that the mod will not work in games that use anti-cheat software.
