Natura's $99 Interface Smart Ring Brings AI Agents to Your Finger

AI startup Natura has unveiled Interface, a $99 smart ring that lets users summon AI agents with a press of a finger. The ring also tracks health metrics including heart rate, sleep, and activity, with pre-orders opening next month.

A Ring Built for the AI Agent Era

Natura, an AI and hardware startup, has unveiled Interface, a $99 smart ring designed for the era of AI agents. With a press of a finger, users can ask an AI agent to complete a task, capture thoughts, and get things done without reaching for their phone. At launch, the ring will connect with a range of AI agents and apps, including Meta's Muse, Instinct, Grokbot, Claude, and ChatGPT.

The company was founded by Carlo Edoardo Ferraris, who previously founded tech accessories company Rolling Square. After years of building consumer hardware, he became convinced that rapidly advancing AI needed a new kind of interface that lets people ask for what they want the way they would ask a person. The idea behind Interface is to help people look up from their phones while getting everyday tasks done more quickly and naturally.

The smart ring was not the company's first product. Natura previously released HumanPods, a pair of AI-enabled earbuds designed to let users interact with AI agents. Ferraris told TechCrunch that the company evolved toward a form factor that provides 24/7 access to agents, noting that the ring is basically an extension of the wearer and can be worn in the shower or while sleeping.

Use Cases and Health Tracking

Natura says the use cases are endless. While out for a run, a user could ask the ring to start tracking a workout. In the shower, the ring could reorder shampoo. While falling asleep in front of the TV, it could turn off the television and set a morning alarm. After recording a meeting, the ring could send notes from the discussion to a coworker.

Responses from agents can be delivered through connected headphones, an iPhone Live Activity, or the NatureOS app. Users who rely on multiple AI agents can specify which one handles a particular task, such as asking Claude to write code or Instinct to book a reservation. The ring can also control devices, including computers.

Beyond AI, Interface doubles as a health tracker. It monitors heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, different sleep stages, daily movement and step count, and skin temperature over time. Natura says the ring lasts 6 to 12 days on a full charge, depending on usage, and takes 100 minutes to fully recharge.

Pricing and Availability

Pre-orders for Interface are expected to open next month, with shipping slated for December or January. Although the ring will launch at $99, Natura plans to eventually raise the price. After an initial free period of three to six months, the company plans to charge a $9 monthly subscription fee.

Natura says the ring's manufacturing costs are comparable to those of products like the Oura Ring and Samsung Galaxy Ring because they use many of the same components. However, the company plans to price its ring lower initially to reduce the barrier to entry and drive adoption. Ferraris believes Interface stands out in a market filled with health focused offerings from companies like Oura, Ultrahuman, and RingConn, as well as AI focused ones from Pebble and Vocci, by combining high quality health tracking with agent communication, meeting recordings, external memory, long battery life, and a very small size.
