FuriosaAI Secures $620 Million Series D to Scale AI Inference Accelerators
FuriosaAI completed a $620 million Series D round at about $2.9 billion valuation, with funds aimed at RNGD production, software and a third-generation AI accelerator.
FuriosaAI, a South Korea-based AI semiconductor company, has completed a $620 million Series D financing round that values the company at about $2.9 billion after the investment. The company said the capital will support expanded production of its RNGD AI inference accelerator, its software ecosystem, and development of a third-generation AI accelerator.
Funding round and investors
Global investors joining the round include Infinitum, Jericho Capital, QUDA Capital, Cisco Investments, and Worldline Capital, alongside the National Growth Fund of Korea and Korean institutions. International investors contributed $110 million in total. Infinitum, a U.S.-based investment firm with extensive AI semiconductor experience, was the largest international investor. Singapore-based QUDA Capital Partners also joined; its founder and managing partner, Charlie Foo, previously held senior leadership roles at NVIDIA and Mellanox Technologies and now serves as Principal Advisor to FuriosaAI. Other international investors include Abu Dhabi-based NeoFort Holding.
South Korea's National Growth Fund invested $280 million as the largest investor in the round. Existing shareholders contributed $125 million in follow-on investments, and the Korea Development Bank invested an additional $22 million. All three original seed investors, NAVER, DSC Investment, and KDB Capital, participated. DSC Investment first backed FuriosaAI in 2017 and has participated in every financing round since the seed stage. NAVER's seed investment was made by NAVER D2SF, while this round's investment was made by NAVER Ventures. Nextrans and Kakao Investment also participated. The Export-Import Bank of Korea selected FuriosaAI for its first direct investment in a startup. United Asset Management Company committed $30 million, and Hanwha Asset Management also joined.
Production plans and customers
FuriosaAI expects to produce 20,000 RNGD accelerators in 2026 and plans to more than double production to over 40,000 units in 2027. LG Group is running its EXAONE deployments on RNGD. Upstage uses RNGD to serve live search summarization for millions of users. Samsung SDS launched its commercial NPU-as-a-service on RNGD in July.
June Paik, co-founder and CEO of FuriosaAI, said the financing marks an important milestone and reflects investor confidence in the company's technology and ability to execute. Paik added that FuriosaAI is entering a new phase of bringing its technology to the global AI infrastructure market at scale. Yong Jung Park, general partner of NAVER Ventures, said the firm looks for the moment a technology company moves from proving its technology to proving its business, and that FuriosaAI is at that point with its chip in volume production and deployment with customers.
Technology and company background
Founded in 2017, FuriosaAI develops high-performance, energy-efficient AI accelerators for data center inference. Its proprietary Tensor Contraction Processor architecture is used in an integrated AI computing stack spanning silicon, compilers, software, and server systems. RNGD, the company's second-generation accelerator, entered mass production in January 2026. The 180-watt, air-cooled RNGD card delivers throughput comparable to a GPU drawing twice as much power or more. The company is collaborating with Broadcom on its third-generation AI accelerator for hyperscale infrastructure. FuriosaAI is headquartered in Seoul and has offices in the United States, Portugal, and Singapore.
