Slate's Electric Truck Starts at $24,950 With 205 Miles of Range

Slate Auto is marketing its electric pickup as "the most affordable truck in America", with the base "Blank Slate" configuration listed at $24,950 on the company's website. Shipping and taxes are calculated at checkout, and the price carries footnoted conditions on the page.

Price, range and body styles

The company says the truck now offers 205 miles of range and notes that it raised the range without raising the price. Buyers can keep the vehicle as a two-seat pickup or order it as a five-seat SUV or a Fastback; the different shapes are configured from the same base vehicle rather than sold as separate models.

Wrapped, not painted

Instead of paint, Slate vehicles are designed to be wrapped. The company argues that this gives buyers more colour choices, makes it easy to swap a colour later and keeps options more affordable. The configurator offers themed starter packs such as Cali Sunset, Ice House, Hauler Back, Farm Stand and Purple Reign, which bundle wraps, decals, lighting, wheels, tyres or interior changes.

Slate says it sells more than 200 accessories, over 80 percent of them priced under $500, and has launched a first collaboration with Crayola built around colour and self-expression.

Charging, repairs and fleets

Charging is presented as a plug-and-play affair: a regular 120V wall outlet, a 240V dryer outlet, or one of 30,500 Tesla Superchargers, with the necessary equipment included. Slate also emphasises repairability — panels swap, parts are accessible and manuals are free — and runs a "Slate U" learning section for owners who want to work on the vehicle themselves.

The company is courting business customers with a fleet offering it describes as easy to maintain and easy to spec, and it keeps a calendar of in-person events for people who want to see the truck before buying. Preorders are open on the site.
