JPMorgan and Goldman market $5.012 billion Volta AI loan at 11.21% to 11.75%

JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs are offering an 11.21% to 11.75% all-in yield on a $5.012 billion leveraged loan for Volta Infrastructure Holdings, funding about 36,000 Nvidia GPUs tied to Bitdeer and Anthropic.

JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs are marketing a $5.012 billion leveraged loan for Volta Infrastructure Holdings, a young AI infrastructure platform. The all-in yield to maturity is about 11.21% to 11.75%. Volta launched the package on Oct. 9, 2026, and commitments are due by Oct. 14, 2026.

Loan terms and use of funds

JPMorgan and Goldman are joint lead arrangers. The package has two pieces: a $1.3 billion first-lien term loan C and a $3.712 billion GPU term loan. Pricing is set at SOFR plus 625 to 650 basis points, with an original issue discount of 97 to 98.

About $3.7 billion is earmarked for GPU purchases, specifically about 36,000 Nvidia GPUs. The remaining roughly $1.3 billion will fund a letter of credit backing a data-center lease. That lease is part of Volta's partnership with Bitdeer Technologies Group on a data center campus in Norway. The end customer is Anthropic, which has committed to a six-year compute-capacity agreement at the site.

A repriced attempt after an earlier push

Volta and its bankers first marketed the financing in August and September 2026 with a spread of approximately SOFR plus 500 basis points. The revised offer adds roughly another 125 to 150 basis points of spread plus the discount. The main concerns are Volta's limited operating history, the absence of corporate guarantees behind the debt, and high leverage compared with peers such as CoreWeave.

Volta raised $300 million in equity earlier in 2026 at a $2.4 billion valuation. Next to a $5 billion loan, that equity cushion is thin. The wider pattern is that investors are demanding higher yields on unrated or riskier AI infrastructure debt without backing from a large corporate parent, while newer firms can still raise money at prices that look more like speculative credit than infrastructure finance.
