T-Mobile launches $90 5 Gbps fiber internet plan with 10-year price guarantee
T-Mobile's new 5 Gbps fiber tier costs $90 per month with a 10-year price guarantee, mesh Wi-Fi extender, and new-customer perks including two free months and a $300 virtual prepaid debit card.
T-Mobile has introduced a new 5 Gbps home fiber internet tier priced at $90 per month, and the plan comes with a 10-year price guarantee. Customers also receive a mesh Wi-Fi extender, while new customers can get two months of free service and a $300 virtual prepaid debit card. The offer requires AutoPay and excludes certain taxes, fees, upgrades, and other charges listed in the fine print.
New tier and price guarantee
The 5 Gbps tier is the newest option in T-Mobile's home fiber lineup. It is priced at $90 per month and includes a 10-year price guarantee. To receive the $90 monthly price, customers must set up AutoPay with T-Mobile.
The fine print states that taxes and fees, voluntary equipment or speed upgrades, select limited-time promotions, per-use charges, third-party services, and network management practices are not included. Customers also receive a mesh Wi-Fi extender that broadens the coverage of the included Fiber gateway.
How it compares
T-Mobile's new plan joins existing 2 Gbps, 1 Gbps, and 300 Mbps plans priced at $70, $60, and $45 per month, respectively. All of these plans feature symmetrical upload and download speeds. In the broader home fiber market, GFiber costs $100 per month for 3 Gbps speeds and $150 per month for an 8 Gbps tier.
Availability and alternatives
T-Mobile launched its home fiber service in the United States just over a year ago, following its acquisition of Lumos. At that time, the service reached half a million customers across the country with speeds of up to 2 Gbps. For people without access to T-Mobile's growing fiber footprint, the company offers unlimited 5G Home Internet service with prices starting at $50 per month.
