TBC Bank Uzbekistan Launches Central Asia's First Full-Scale AI Platform

TBC Bank Uzbekistan completed a 12-month AI transformation programme in 2025, building the first full-scale artificial intelligence platform developed and operated inside an Uzbek bank. Cost per customer interaction fell by more than 90%.

TBC Bank Uzbekistan completed a company-wide AI transformation programme in 2025. According to the bank, this produced the first full-scale artificial intelligence platform built and operated inside an Uzbek bank. The work took twelve months and 45,000 man-hours of development effort.

The programme was designed as a structural change rather than a single product: AI was integrated into core business processes, the platform was built to run without external vendors, and employees across departments received AI tools for daily work.

Infrastructure built in-house

The platform runs on an in-house technology stack. Machine learning work uses PyTorch and TensorFlow; language models range from GPT to open-source systems such as Mistral and Llama, alongside a custom Uzbek-language LLM created inside the bank. Data processing runs on Airflow, Spark, PostgreSQL and Kafka, MLOps workflows on MLflow and Kubernetes, while monitoring and governance rely on Prometheus, Grafana and proprietary internal tools.

Keeping the full stack in-house gives the bank control over data governance, model performance and reliability, the company says. An ML Competence Center set up during the programme maintains the platform and will develop it further.

AI assistants in production

The most visible result is a set of AI products in live operation. The first AI Assistant handles customer contact over voice and chat channels, and two further products, a Sales Assistant and a Collections Assistant, were later delivered to production. During 2025 the systems processed more than 1.6 million customer calls and 690,000 chat interactions.

Measured financial effect

Cost per customer interaction fell from $0.35 to $0.03, a reduction of more than 90%. The documented financial effect was $2.3 million in savings during the programme period, with a projected total of $3.7 million by the end of the year.

The programme also produced a custom model for the Uzbek language with speech recognition and text-to-speech. Parallel to the technical work, an internal AI-isation programme extended adoption to commercial, operational and support teams. According to the bank, the platform is architected to provide AI services to other companies in the wider TBC holding.
