DNEG's AI unit Brahma raises $150M led by Multiples at a $2B valuation

Brahma AI, the Indian enterprise-AI startup owned by DNEG, has raised $150 million from Indian private equity firm Multiples at a $2 billion valuation. Its anchor customers include Warner Bros., the NBA and the Mayo Clinic.

Brahma AI, an Indian startup that makes AI-generated audiovisual content for enterprises, has raised $150 million in a round led by Indian private equity firm Multiples Alternate Asset Management. The deal values the company at $2 billion.

Investor and structure

Brahma AI is owned by Indian media and entertainment company Prime Focus through its UK-based subsidiary DNEG, the visual effects and animation studio behind the Dune film series and "The Odyssey". Prime Focus said it will hold a 66% stake in Brahma AI through DNEG after the fundraise. The company also said investors expressed interest for a further $100 million and that it will evaluate expanding the round to accommodate some or all of that demand.

Technology and customers

The startup says it is bringing technology used in high-end movie and TV production to enterprises and content creators across industries. It currently focuses on four global verticals: media and entertainment, sports, healthcare and advertising. Brahma's anchor customers include Warner Bros., the NBA and the Mayo Clinic.

"Our ambition is much bigger: to build the AI-native technology platform through which the world's leading enterprises manage, understand, create and transform their audiovisual assets," said Prabhu Narasimhan, founder and chief executive of Brahma AI. He added that the company is close to launching interactive digital humans — replicas of real people's likeness and persona designed to make digital interaction as authentic as a face-to-face encounter — and that its technology stack will be model-agnostic.

Background

The round follows Brahma's acquisition of UK-based Metaphysic in February 2025. Metaphysic creates generative AI media in real time and was named among Time magazine's 100 most influential companies in 2023. Narasimhan said Brahma is combining technology and capabilities developed across DNEG, Metaphysic and Prime Focus into a single AI-native platform for the world's largest enterprises. Renuka Ramnath, founder and chief executive of Multiples Alternate Asset Management, described Brahma AI as "built on a unique heritage of Hollywood-grade technology and enterprise innovation".
