Minecraft Runs Inside GTA V on iPhone Thanks to Claude Opus 5.5

A vibecoder and modder used Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 to mod Minecraft into a native iPhone port of GTA V, which runs at 50-60 FPS on an iPhone 17 while using just 1.1GB of RAM.

Minecraft Modded Into GTA V on iPhone

A vibecoder and modder known as 0xProbability has revealed that they successfully launched Minecraft inside a modded iPhone port of GTA V. The mod immediately shows the Minecraft HUD and loads in the character Steve. According to 0xProbability, the entire process, from writing the code to testing the game, was handled by Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5, and they claim they have not even touched the phone while Claude flies the Ender Dragon around Los Santos.

While Minecraft in GTA V is not surprising given the vast amount of wacky mods available for the game, running it on an iPhone is another matter entirely.

A Native iPhone Port Built From a Browser Version

0xProbability did not port GTA V to the iPhone themselves. They credit that work to C22, a student at EPFL, a prestigious school in Switzerland. C22's port runs GTA V natively on the iPhone, based on a version of GTA V that was adapted to run in a web browser, and converts that into a native iOS application. The port even supports multiplayer. According to the project's README, it runs on iOS 15 or later and on macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon, ideally with 8GB of RAM or more.

Performance and AI-Driven Development

In a video posted on X on October 9, 2026, C22 demonstrated the port running at 50-60 FPS on an iPhone 17 while using only 1.1GB of RAM. Before bringing the mod to the iPhone, 0xProbability experimented with the same browser version of GTA V running Minecraft, complete with block-building mechanics, not just Minecraft mobs and characters. In one post, they stated: "It's crazy what you can run in a browser nowadays," noting that web browsers used to be for simple .io games, while in 2026, heavy 3D games run on them. A follow-up post on October 12, 2026 showed gameplay titled "You Can Now Fly with Elytra in GTA 5 (Minecraft Edition) on iOS!"
