Taiwan-based GMI Cloud raises $663M: $223M Series B led by ARCHIV, $440M credit from CTBC

Taiwan-based GPU cloud provider GMI Cloud Inc. has raised $663 million in funding from two sources. The raise was first reported by The Information.

Equity and credit

The $223 million Series B was led by ARCHIV, a robotics and AI-focused investment firm. Nvidia, Redwood, DSC Investment, KT Corp., Kyobo Life, KB Investment and Trend Micro also participated. Alongside the round, GMI Cloud secured a $440 million credit facility from ChinaTrust Commercial Bank (CTBC), one of Taiwan's largest financial institutions. Together the two tranches total about $663 million.

What GMI Cloud does

GMI Cloud runs an AI infrastructure-as-a-service platform built for resource-intensive model training and inference. It offers on-demand access to Nvidia's H100 and H200 chips as well as the newer Vera Rubin GPUs. A proprietary Kubernetes-based system called Cluster Engine automates resource allocation and instance provisioning, letting developers spin up GPU clusters from preconfigured environments in seconds instead of configuring them by hand.

An Asia-Pacific base

The startup operates dozens of data centers in Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia, giving it a stronger local footprint in Asia than rivals such as CoreWeave and Nebius, whose capacity is concentrated in the U.S. and Europe. GMI Cloud is also expanding in the U.S. and launched a sovereign AI initiative in Japan earlier this year. Founder and CEO Alex Yeh said Taiwan's position as the world's largest manufacturing hub for AI server systems gives the company a secure supply chain.

Why it matters

Neoclouds exist to supply the GPU capacity AI developers need, and GMI Cloud is built entirely to Nvidia's standards. The money will fund the global expansion of that Nvidia-based compute. The company said its contracted annual recurring revenue is set to grow tenfold by the end of the year versus December 2025, while realized ARR has risen fivefold over the past year; its inference platform processes more than 4 trillion tokens per week. Customers include Higgsfield, OpenRouter, Nous Research, Fireworks AI and Trend Micro.
