NVIDIA details DLSS 5 with 3D-guided neural rendering, updates ACE and RTX Kit

NVIDIA has detailed DLSS 5, which adds 3D-guided neural rendering as a final stage of the graphics pipeline, and updated its ACE speech models, the In-Game Inferencing SDK and RTX Kit 2026.3.

DLSS 5 adds 3D-guided neural rendering

NVIDIA has detailed DLSS 5, which extends the graphics pipeline with a final neural-rendering stage. The model treats the game engine’s rendered frame — artist-authored geometry, textures and lighting buffers — as an unyielding foundation: the engine frame defines what must remain, while developers direct what may change.

Using frame color and motion vectors, it adds lifelike lighting and material detail while preserving scene structure, character identity and artistic intent. A strict one-frame-in, one-frame-out model keeps output deterministic and temporally stable, and the compact network runs locally on a single GeForce RTX 50 Series GPU at up to 4K.

Controls for art direction

Developers can choose among several models, mix them across scenes, gameplay or cutscenes, and tune Structure Intensity and Tone Intensity for high-frequency detail and the overall lighting and color response. Semantic AI masking applies or holds back the effect on recognized scene elements, while engine-level masks isolate props such as glassware, water droplets and foliage.

DLSS 5 is available now in NBA 2K27 from Visual Concepts and 2K on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, and via GeForce NOW Ultimate.

ACE and in-game inference updates

NVIDIA ACE adds Nemotron Speech 3.5 Streaming, a 600-million-parameter speech recognition model built to minimize latency, and Qwen3 TTS, a 600-million-parameter text-to-speech model with custom fine-tuning. Both run locally alongside game graphics through the In-Game Inferencing (NVIGI) SDK, which executes models in-process in C++.

The SDK also adds developer-preview support for RTX Spark, integrates Gemma4 into its GPT plugin and adds a Stable Diffusion plugin.

RTX Kit 2026.3 and Mega Geometry 2.0

RTX Kit 2026.3 updates RTX Character Rendering to 1.4, adds DLSS Ray Reconstruction integration to RTX Dynamic Illumination 3.1, and brings Windows ARM64 support to RTX Neural Texture Compression 0.10 beta and RTX Texture Filtering 1.3. RTX Mega Geometry 2.0 adds streaming of continuous level-of-detail clusters for high-density meshes, shown in a textured glTF version of Zorah, and arrives soon in Gears of War: E-Day.
