Meta opens early access program for new Muse features
Meta is taking requests for early access to the Muse features unveiled at Connect 2026. Users can ask the agent to add them to the list; the program covers the real-time avatar, smart glasses and Mac computer use.
Meta has opened an early access program for the new capabilities it announced for its Muse AI app at the Connect 2026 developer conference. In a post on Friday, September 25, the company said users can now ask Muse to put them on the list and try the latest features before anyone else.
The request happens inside the app. Meta shared a link on X to a prompt that, once sent to Muse, logs the user's interest. Those who would rather type it themselves can copy the sentence: “Can you let the Muse team know I want to be part of the Muse early access program?” The company also points to a request page at muse.ai/request-early-access.
What the program covers
Muse launched in early September and runs on Muse Spark, Meta's multimodal model built for agentic work. The new features were unveiled at Connect on September 23 and include a digital avatar powered by a new model called Muse Realtime Avatar, which users will be able to video chat with in real time.
Meta also said Muse is coming to its line of smart glasses, where the agent activates with a wake word and works in the background. On Mac, the agent will be able to operate any app on the desktop and keep working through queued tasks after the user walks away. A dedicated email address for Muse is in development as well.
Shopping partnerships and connectors are expanding too: Meta has deals with Stripe and Shopify, supports Shop Pay and PayPal, and connects to retailers including Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Walmart, Wayfair and Expedia, with Instacart coming soon. Other connectors include GitHub, Notion and Granola. Meta opened its platform to third-party connectors and received more than 1,500 applications in less than a week.
Who Meta is looking for
Companies usually offer pilot tests to select users, or run A/B tests with a randomized group to gather feedback and measure results. This time, Meta wants AI enthusiasts to try the features first. That crowd tends to use several AI apps and agents and has a good understanding of the market, which could help Meta stay ahead of the competition.
Availability
Early access works on a request basis, and Meta has not given exact dates. The company has said only that the glasses integration should launch sometime in “the coming months,” while the email feature will arrive “soon.”
